The Stories Behind the BOV Volleyball Marathon: Meet Elaine

Every donation made during the BOV Volleyball Marathon helps change lives.

One of the people who will directly benefit from this year’s fundraiser is Elaine, a much-loved resident of Id-Dar tal-Providenza whose story is one of courage, resilience, and hope.

In a heartfelt interview, Elaine’s brother, Aaron,  explains how despite the challenges she has faced throughout her life, Elaine has never allowed her disability to define her.

Instead, he describes her as exactly what she has always been: a fighter and a warrior.

A New Chapter at Id-Dar tal-Providenza

Aaron also shares the emotional moment when the family decided to approach Id-Dar tal-Providenza about the possibility of Elaine moving into one of its residences.

What could have been a daunting transition quickly became something entirely different. True to her adventurous spirit, Elaine embraced the move as the start of a new chapter in her life.

Today, Id-Dar tal-Providenza is much more than just a place to live. It has become a second family, where Elaine enjoys the care, support, friendships, and opportunities that allow her to continue living life with dignity and happiness.

This year’s BOV Volleyball Marathon will take place between Thursday 16th and Saturday 18th July at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.
