The Stories Behind the BOV Volleyball Marathon: Meet Jason

Behind every donation made during the BOV Volleyball Marathon is a person whose life has been transformed through the care and support of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.

This is Jason’s story. Jason’s siblings speak with great affection about the special bond they share with their brother and the important role family has always played in his life.

His brother, Michael, recalls one memory that sticks. Just before his wedding, Jason turned to Michael’s fiancée and jokingly said, “You took away my brother.”

It was a simple but heartfelt moment that perfectly captured how much family means to Jason and just how close the siblings have always been.

A Difficult Time, A New Chapter

When their father passed away, life changed significantly for Jason and his family.

Like many families facing difficult circumstances, they had to make some challenging decisions about Jason’s future. It was during this period that he moved to Id-Dar tal-Providenza.

Although it marked the beginning of a new chapter, it certainly didn’t mean the family grew apart.

His brothers and sister continue to visit him every week, something Jason eagerly looks forward to. Those regular visits ensure that the strong family bond they have always shared remains as important today as ever.

Unlocking Potential

For Jason’s family, moving to Id-Dar tal-Providenza was never simply about finding him somewhere to live.

It was about giving him the opportunity to flourish.

Since becoming a resident, Jason has embraced new experiences, developed new skills, and become even more active. One of his greatest passions today is rugby, a sport that allows him to stay fit, build friendships, and enjoy the confidence that comes from being part of a team.

With the support of the dedicated staff at Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Jason continues to live an active, fulfilling life while receiving the care he needs every day.

Every Story Is a Reason to Support the Volleyball Marathon

Jason’s story reminds us that the BOV Volleyball Marathon is about so much more than the 53 hours played on the court.

Every donation helps provide opportunities, independence, and meaningful experiences for residents like Jason, allowing them to live life to the fullest while remaining connected to the people they love.

This year’s BOV Volleyball Marathon takes place between Thursday 16th and Saturday 18th July at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

By supporting the volleyball marathon, you’re helping residents like Jason continue writing new chapters filled with opportunity, friendship, and hope.

We look forward to welcoming you to the MFCC, where together we can make a lasting difference for Jason, his friends, and every resident at Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
