MPs Take to the Court in Support of the BOV Volleyball Marathon

Training for the BOV Volleyball Marathon usually means long hours on the court, demanding fitness sessions, and preparing for the challenge of playing continuously for 53 hours.

Last Saturday, however, the athletes swapped an intense training session for something a little different.

Players headed indoors to the Mediterranean College of Sport Pavilion, where they were joined by Members of Parliament from both Government and Opposition for a friendly volleyball match aimed at raising awareness for the upcoming BOV Volleyball Marathon.

Sport Brings People Together

The afternoon wasn’t about perfect technique or competitive volleyball.

In fact, some of the rallies were far from spectacular, but that was all part of the fun.

The players were on hand to share a few volleyball tips and tricks before the MPs stepped onto the court to put their newly acquired skills to the test. The result was an afternoon filled with laughter, good-natured competition, and plenty of memorable moments.

More importantly, the event highlighted how sport has the power to bring people together in support of an important cause.

Raising Awareness for Id-Dar tal-Providenza

Beyond the friendly competition, the event served an important purpose: encouraging more people to learn about and support the BOV Volleyball Marathon in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.

With the marathon fast approaching, every opportunity to raise awareness helps ensure that more people attend, donate, and support the residents who benefit from the event.

The presence of MPs from across the political spectrum also reflected the community spirit that has always been at the heart of the marathon.

The Countdown Continues

At the end of the event, Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, thanked the Members of Parliament for taking the time to participate, as well as the media for helping share the marathon’s message with the wider public.

He encouraged everyone present to continue spreading the word and reminded supporters that this year’s BOV Volleyball Marathon will begin on Thursday 16th July and run through to Saturday 18th July at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

With the countdown now well underway, excitement continues to build for what promises to be another unforgettable edition of the BOV Volleyball Marathon, bringing together athletes, volunteers, supporters, and the wider community for an incredible cause.
